Easy-Install SunTouch Floor Heating Kit for 120 sq ft, Programmable Thermostat Included

SunTouch TapeMats come with double-sided tape on each side and an attached 10 ft powerlead, allowing for a quick and easy installation. The open-weave mesh design of the SunTouch TapeMats enables them to be installed in a single day, eliminating the need to wait for mortar to cure overnight before laying tile.

Achieving warm floors is a simple four-step process with SunTouch TapeMats. First, unroll and attach the mat(s) to the subfloor using the double-sided tape. Next, secure the floor sensor, which is included with all SunTouch thermostats. Then, apply thin-set mortar, and finally, install your flooring. The edging of the mat is lined with double-sided tape, providing a fast and easy installation that adheres directly to the subfloor. The mesh design also allows for the mortar to bond easily with the underlying material, resulting in a seamless integration.

Compared to typical tile installations, SunTouch TapeMats add only 1/8" to the floor thickness. The mesh can be cut to accommodate various spaces and layouts, including turns and curves. If necessary, the mesh can even be removed entirely from a portion of the mat, while leaving the blue heating wire intact, which cannot be cut or shortened. Repair kits are available in case the wire is accidentally cut or nicked.

The included programmable thermostat, the SunStat View Thermostat 500750, features a 7-day programming schedule, dual-voltage 120/240 VAC, a built-in GFCI for safety, and a built-in 15-amp relay that can control up to 150 sq. ft. (1800 watts) at 120 V or 300 sq. ft. (3600 watts) at 240 V. It offers both floor and air sensing modes, as well as SmartStart Technology, which automatically adjusts the start time of the floor warming system to ensure the floor has reached the set temperature at the scheduled time. Additionally, the thermostat includes an Energy Use monitor that displays the hours of system operation.

Ensuring a properly functioning floor heating system is easy with SunTouch TapeMats. By using a Digital Multi Meter to test the resistance of the heating elements before and after installing the floor, you can have peace of mind knowing that your system is working as intended. Each cable has a UL tag on the powerlead with a resistance (Ohm) range printed on it. If the reading between the two colored wires is within the specified Ohm range and there is no resistance on the ground wire, you can be confident that the system is undamaged and operational.
