THE UNIVERSAL FLOOR SENSOR by LuxHeat is a reliable and accurate temperature probe designed to monitor the temperature of the floor heating system and communicate with the thermostat controller, to accurately adjust the temperature of the heating system to ensure optimal comfort levels in the room. Accurate temperature monitoring can greatly increase the comfort and economy of a radiant heat system. Certain types of flooring (e.g. laminate wood floors) require a floor sensor, as per the manufacturer's instructions, to limit floor temp.
The thermistor changes its resistance reading according to the temperature that surrounds the probe. This reading is communicated to the thermostat, the thermostat interprets resistance reading and adjusts heating system accordingly. The temperature sensor probe must be taped or glued to the floor substrate between two of the floor heating cables. The connections on the end of the Floor Sensor are connected to the correct terminals on the thermostat controller.
The LuxHeat Universal Floor Sensor accurately measures the floor temperature and communicates with the thermostat, to increase the comfort and efficiency of the floor heating system. It is a UNIVERSAL NTC 10k ohm Probe, Compatible with all types of radiant heating systems, and compatible with most types of thermostat controllers, including Aube, Honeywell, NuHeat, SunTouch, Ditra and OJ Electronics.
The FLEXIBLE sensor cable is easy to install and can be cut short or lengthened as required. The 15 foot (4.3m) length is suitable for most standard installations, for optimal placement in the heated room for accurate temperature measuring. The SIMPLE TO INSTALL neutral polarity floor sensor is quick and easy to connect to your thermostat. The tough cable insulation protects against damage during flooring installation.
It is BETTER to be safe than sorry, so it is recommended to install a back-up floor sensor to avoid unnecessary lifting of floors should the primary sensor fail. The Thermistor reads 10k ohm as 77degF/25DegC.
